dancing bears

Owsley "Bear" Stanley III - the guy who designed the Grateful Dead's sound setup, the acid maker who fueled the band and Ken Kesey's Merry Pranksters, and the inspiration for the classic design above. Check out this recent interview with the unrepentant hippie genius.

Also, check out this fantastic Grateful Dead show, recorded at Ken Kesey's ranch in August, 1972.

  6. Hey James,

I like that that new player. Is that new for our site, or is that embedded from a different site?

Also, hippies are good. Don't take it personally.

  7. Tim,

Thank you for your comments on the new player; I also think it is quite nice.

That player is embedded from archive.org, but it was a total pain in the you-know-what to make it work. I will try to figure out how we could use it to embed a playlist of our own.

    Best,

    -James
